AND USEFUL TIPS
#

Poor feed quality is the leading cause of calf mortality. But not only young cattle suffer from malnutrition. Cows reduce milk production, manufacturing bulls are sick, the taste of beef worsens, etc. That is why many farms and even ordinary villagers switch to feeding cattle with pellets.

Granular feed free from the disadvantages of loose, more balanced than home feed mixtures and allows you to maximize the potential of animals.

Cattle Nutritional Needs

Cows cannot be called demanding in content, but special attention must be paid to the quality of food. Experienced farmers always meet the needs of cattle:

  • a large amount of protein (especially important for lactating cows and young beef). The composition of the feed must include legumes, for example, in the form of high protein meal;
  • a lot of fiber for the proper functioning of the digestive system. It is important to give hay/straw to cows, and to include grass meal from meadow herbs and alfalfa in the feed composition;
  • vitamins E, A and minerals calcium and phosphorus. For better preservation of vitamin A, up to 1% salt is added to the feed.

Giving cows mixed feed in granules, it is easy to provide absolutely all the needs of cattle in a balanced feed. The use of loose varieties and homemade mixtures is less effective, but more costly and troublesome.

When buying a granulator, Artmash customers always receive a book of compound feed recipes with optimal nutritional compositions for cows in the stall period, starting mixtures for calves and basic feeds for repair heifers for the winter. These recipes not only help to make a balanced feed, but also provide an effective and safe mode of operation of the equipment.

Benefits of Granular Feed for Cattle Feeding

For cows, bulls, calves

  • Nutrition balanced with good taste.
  • Granules, unlike bulk feed, are easily captured by the tongue. No dust irritating the nasal mucosa.
  • Granulation kills fungi and germs, so cattle do not get sick. The mortality rate of young animals decreases.
  • Partial saccharification of starch during granulation increases the nutritional value of the product and improves digestion.
  • Weak individuals gain access to a complete diet, so they can catch up with stronger counterparts.
  • Granules are well suited for the digestive system of cattle, so there is no intestinal upset.

For staff

  • No need to prepare complex mixtures, steam food, separately mix vitamin supplements. Since vitamins in granules decompose over time an order of magnitude slower than in ordinary hay and grain, vitamins will not be needed even at the end of winter.
  • Granules are easier to dose and sprinkle on feeders. You can use automation systems.
  • The feeders are not contaminated, therefore, do not require daily cleaning and do not serve as a breeding ground for pathogenic microbes.
  • The granules are dense, so more feed is placed in the feeder and it needs to be filled less often.
  • Granules can be stored for a long time in almost any room without loss of useful properties. The food does not exfoliate, does not cake, does not freeze. No need to waste effort and time for the correct content of feed.

For business

  • There is no feed waste, food is used more efficiently.
  • Labor costs for cattle service are reduced, fewer people cope with work.
  • You can buy a large batch at a bargain price. Storage space needs an order of magnitude less (compared to hay, grain, silage and other traditional feeds).
  • The productivity of animals increases by 25-30%, and the cost of a unit of production (milk, meat) is reduced.
  • Cattle eat more feed and gain weight faster. Meat breeds grow 15-30% more actively. The payback period is reduced.

For the farmer with a granulator

  • Large granules are easier to produce, the granulator gives greater productivity. Making feed for cattle is more profitable than for rabbits and chickens.
  • You can control the quality of the components, which is especially important when growing valuable breeding animals.
  • It is easy to create granules according to your own recipe, taking into account the breed, age, season, method of maintenance, etc.

For consumer

  • The meat and milk of animals that ate well was tastier.
  • Products from healthy livestock are safe.
  • By reducing the cost of production, the farmer can set a price that is more pleasant for the buyer.

As you can see, granular feed is suitable not only for poultry and rodents, but also for cattle. Studies show that for animals it is even more useful than traditional grazing. Therefore, all enterprises are gradually switching to feeding cattle with granules.
